Biography:
Bob is the President and CEO of Mobile Iron, a venture-backed start-up company located in Sunnyvale, California. Investors include Norwest Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Storm Ventures.
Prior to MobileIron, Bob led the Business Development team for Cisco’s enterprise wireless (WiFi) business unit and service provider wireless (WiMax) business unit, a combined $1B business for Cisco. Before Cisco, Bob was one of the first executives and served as the Vice President of Business Development for Airespace, Inc. In March 2005, Cisco Systems acquired Airespace.
Prior to joining Airespace, he served as Director of Marketing and as a Product Manager at Vertical Networks, a Voice over IP company funded by Kleiner Perkins and Accel Partners. Before joining Vertical, he served as vice president at NationsBank (now Bank of America), with experience in IT, sales, product management, and operations.
Tinker is a member of the Foundation Board of Trustees for the recently opened 10th campus of University of California campus at Merced. Tinker has a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He resides in San Francisco.
